Anyone who’s looking for a place to build a new home starts with a list. These are the “must-haves” that represent the lifestyle priorities of the family. For many homebuyers – from young families to empty-nesters – MorningStar checks off all of the boxes of this homebuyer’s list!

MorningStar, located just north of Austin, is the newest master-planned community in the Texas Hill Country. It’s located on the north side of Highway 29 on the new Kauffman Loop, with convenient access to a variety of Austin’s commuter routes and major employers.

The families who live in MorningStar are fond of saying, “It’s close enough for work and fun and far enough away for peace and quiet.” One of those families – The Wagners – offered a list of the five reasons they love life at MorningStar.

#1 The Feel of the Community

“Before deciding to build, we looked at a lot of areas and MorningStar had the kind of family-oriented community that we wanted for our children,” Nina Wagner said. “Our home has the right layout, the right neighborhood at the right price! Our home’s functionality fits us perfectly.”

#2 The Amenities of MorningStar are Fabulous

The amenities of this planned community are designed to resemble a resort. This is important for the Wagner family. “For my husband and me, we love the large pool and meeting pavilion and we use it a LOT,” Nina said. “Our kids love to take the family pooch to the dog park.”

MorningStar also has:

2 Kids Playgrounds – Featuring a large play structure complete with a slide, sliding pole, multiple ladders for the bigger kids, and a toddler park with smaller play structure, music-making structures, and a bulldozer!

1.5 miles of Hiking and Biking Nature Trails – Residents are also able to get in a complete workout along the trails when stopping at one of the many energy stations.

75-plus Acres of open space, greenbelts and community parks – Space for enjoying the lush ambiance of the Texas Hill Country.

The Big Dipper Fishing Pond – The pond is fully stocked year around for residents to enjoy features a wildflower preserve, creating a perfect backdrop where residents can relax.

#3 The Liberty Hill Schools are Exemplary

Schools are at the top of most family’s “must-have” list and the Liberty Hill ISD is one of the best in the state. A great teacher to student ratio makes for one-on-one learning. Plus, the extracurricular activities are diverse enough to intrigue any child.

#4 Lot’s to Do!

The kids and the parents of the Wagner family stay busy with tons of fun activities. “For ‘date night,’ we love to go to ‘Jack Allen’s’ in Round Rock,” Nina said. “Our favorite family restaurant is Dahlia Cafe in Liberty Hill. Our kids love to go there for the outside area, live music, and the other kids that they meet there. We love to go to HEB Event Center in Cedar Park for famous bands and shows like Cirque Du Soleil. Plus, cheering on the Liberty Hill High School Panthers at football games is a must! Finally, there is a wide variety of shopping and my favorite is Wolf Ranch Town Center.

#5 Neighbors Who Care About Each Other

MorningStar has the feel of a small community from days gone by. This is important to the residents and their kids. “It’s a great neighborhood to live in,” Nina said. “All of the neighbors look out for each other.  There are lots of kids and they all play together, usually outside in the street while the parents sit in the driveway.”
